If you want your wealth to be distributed in accordance with the Shari'a of Islam after your death, it is essential for you to leave a will that is valid under English law and which expresses that wish. Malik relates to me from Nafi' from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "It is the duty of a Muslim who has anything to bequeath not to let two nights pass without writing a will about it."
